New Hampshire Primary Memories

A few years back, The Boston Globe published some of my New Hampshire memories.

Here’s one of my favorites, featuring a much younger Bill Clinton.

Back when my wife and I worked as photographers in New Hampshire, it was always fun photographing presidential candidates who swarmed the state. Bill Clinton was probably the most memorable. We met him many times, but three encounters stick out most in my mind.

A Renaissance Festival Wedding

“I’ll bet you’re looking forward to this wedding,” bride Jen said to me as we waited at the front gate of the Renaissance Festival in Holly, Michigan.

That was definitely an understatement. It’s not often that you get to photograph a couple and thousands of their closest friends who went all Medieval on them before, during and after the ceremony.

Belfast: Coming Back From The Brink

The Troubles.

That’s what the conflict in Northern Ireland has been called for generations. We’ve been told that everything is fine now. The violence has ceased and both sides, Irish Catholics and English Protestants, are getting along fine.

Driving around, snapping photos

Sometimes I simply love being a freelance writer and photographer. This past week was one of those times.

A large company in Southeast Michigan hired me to travel around photographing people, towns and neighborhoods in and about Detroit for the sole purpose of putting them in a brochure to attract potential employees.

London: The Big Picture(s)

There’s nothing better than strolling around town, any town, and taking pictures. It’s called Street Photography and those of us whose hearts pump developer, stop bath and fixer love wandering with a camera. Pros like Scott Strazzante take it well past documentary photography and well into high art with blogs like Shooting from the Hip.

You’ve heard of Humans of New York? Well today I offer up a few humans of London.
