I had the distinct honor of photographing a wonderful wedding recently. Rachel and BJ got married in Saline, Michigan a cool little town just south of Ann Arbor. I don’t mind traveling to photo shoots, particularly ones like this. The family treated me like one of their own — were open, gracious, loving — and seemed to have fun all day long, from preparation to departure.
I received this awesome note as they reviewed their discs:
I wanted to let you know that the photos from the wedding are exactly what we hoped for!
I realized, as we looked through the images, how little of the event we actually saw. But thanks to your photos, we were able to sample many wonderful moments that we had missed — as well as the key moments that we want to remember forever.
I also realized that you worked your tail off that day. I pointed out to my wife: “Hey, look at how he’s behind them here, but seconds later he’s in front of them even as they’re walking. He had to RUN to get there.” (Note: There are certain laws of physics that you’re required to obey, even in Ann Arbor. Being in multiple places at once is one of them. This is your final warning.)
We’re deeply moved and tremendously grateful for what you put into the work, Rodney. I hope you can understand how much we will get out of it.
Again, highest recommendation — and I continue to hear kudos from people who’ve seen the images you posted online. I hope you have all the business & twice the happiness you can handle.
